The Spill Over

The work draws from Abstract Expressionism, particularly the post–Helen Frankenthaler and Morris Louis tradition, where color behaves as a stain rather than a defined boundary. Pigment flows and settles organically, allowing emotion to emerge through movement instead of fixed form. It also reflects European lyrical abstraction, seen in its restraint, softness, and quiet confidence rather than overt intensity. The composition favors suggestions over declaration, inviting viewers to slow down and engage intuitively. A subtle echo of Turner’s late atmospheric works is present, where structure dissolves into light and color. Forms feel suspended and transient, leaving mood and atmosphere to carry the emotional weight.
